    Obama chooses U.S. prosecutor Loretta Lynch to be next attorney general

    President Obama has nominated New York federal prosecutor Loretta Lynch to be the country’s next attorney general, making the announcement on the first weekend of Congress’ lame-duck session.

    The White House has urged Senate officials to work out the timeline for her confirmation as soon as possible.
