Now That the War is Over

BTW the war is not over. Iraqis are killed daily and our troops are still dying.

It is easy for a pro-war ideologue like Basso who doesn't serve to see the war as over. Many of our troops would probably like to punch Basso if he dared to tell them that the war was over. This is applies also to our wounded veterans whose struggle to deal with their injuries may never be over.

Good song and interesting video, it looks like it was put together of clips from a few movies.

There were Irish brigades in both the Union and the Confederacy which actually fought each other in a couple of battles.

 

Not rockin at all but conveys the solemnity and tragedy of war for victor and vanquished alike

Yeah, it can be startling when you go back and realize there were always schisms that emerge around going to war. It always more complicated than the story tells later. One of the great things about the narrative is that it preserves perspective in a way mainstream history doesn't.
