The astros haven't been in a position to close out a series in quite sometime. Wasn't 1980 the last time their first round opponent was on the ropes?

We need the Yankees to close out the Twins so tommorrow's game will be in primetime.

Yea... this is the first time in the killer B's era that they've won more than one game in a series.

We also need a Cardinals sweep today to setup the Prime Time game.

Believe me, i'm well aware of that. Let's hope after tomorrow we can add "this is the first time in the killer B's era that they've advanced to the NLCS":)

Quick quesiton, Backe only threw 79 pitches for 6 innings, any reason why he didn't go that extra inning? He was getting better as the game went along, I know we weren't eager to get into our bullpen. Is it because he recently made the conversion to pitcher only like 3 years ago, he's a relatively young guy at 26 and I don't think a 100 pitches would have been out of the question.

Let's just quit mentioning that year after 1979 and before 1981, please. ;)

I'd rather face a tired Cardinals team (if we do indeed take the series) than play on prime-time TV.
