I'm pretty optimistic about game 2. I think STL gave us their best shot in game one and we almost withstood it. I'm going to do my best positive voodoo for our middle relief tonight...and Munro too! Go Astros!!!

    Munro goes 7 innings giving up 1 run, and 4 hits.....6 K's

Beltran stays hot and hits another HR

    3-1 Astros win

The Astros hit Morris. They seem to have success against this guy.

i say it depends on the damn plate ump.. last night, after the Stros went up 4-2 our staff got a total of like 4 called strikes the rest of the game. what a freaking hose-job.

did anyone see the 'low and away' slider that was called a strike against Biggio? that was terrible!

also, i've never seen a team break so many bats as the Cards did last night.. i think they got lucky; we can beat them tonight. more importantly, i think the Astros think they beat them tonight.

anyone else notice how everyone on the team is growing beards? haha

    Astros win 7-4

It did seem like our pitchers were getting squeezed. Some of what were called strikes on the Astros were balls on STL. Then again, with that horrid tv angle that Fox uses, it was impossible to tell.

Munro will go 5 and keep us in the game. The pen will recover and those broken bat hits turn into ground outs. Besides, we kill Morris.

    Astros 7
    STL 4

good point...bad strike zone last night. way too low...way too high...and even pitches off the plate were getting called for strikes.

ausmus raised a little hell about that in his last at bat in the 9th.

The announcers even commented that Welke seemed to be expanding the zone as the game went on. Something they said is almost never seen in the playoffs. There were several pitches on Kent and Bagwell that I thought were not being called on some of the Cardinal hitters.

Scrap-Iron needs to file some sort of protest with MLB....that Ump SERIOUSLY needs to be reprimanded. Me and Master Debater were watching the game at the Fox and Hound in The Woodlands. The people in there, even the casual watchers were STUNNED by this guys strike calling...He was most definitely responsible for some of those runs in the 6th...BS!!!!!!!!!!

We WILL fight back...the Stro's will NOT die!!

    8-6 Stros

This game depends on which Munro shows up. I have no idea what this guy is going to do from one game to the next that he pitches in. If he's off, then it could be a very long night especially if we have to go to our bullpen early. If he gives us 5 or 6 at least, then I like our chances a little bit better.

This could be an even more high scoring game than game 1. God, I hope not unless we are doing all the scoring.

No prediction here. We haven't lost two in a row in a while so why the hell should we start now?

Will tonight be rained out? That would be a gift to our pitching rotation.

I just checked out the weather and it looks like a lot of rain in the forcast tonight. From 7pm-9pm it says there is an 80% chance for "rain", but from 9PM and on it just says 60% and Light Rain.
