Well, I don't think Tyrod is the long-term solution. But, I do wonder if the Browns will give Tyrod a shot at being the franchise QB, if they end up drafting Barkley and a guy on defense, with #1 and #4. Tyrod is more than capable of being a starter. We'll see if Cleveland gives him a long leash.
So looks like A.J. McCarron was the one left out in QB musical chairs. Bradford & Glennon to Arizona Cousins to Minnesota Smith to Washington Bridgewater & McCown to New York Jets Keenum to Denver Taylor to Cleveland Brees stays in New Orleans Garropolo stays in San Fran Bortles stays in Jacksonville I guess the Bills but it appears they're going through the draft.
So there's a new rule passed on no longer lowering your head to make contact. Let's all give a big wave goodbye to football!!!
Heard on Fox Sports the NFL is looking to remove Kickoffs --- probably safety reasons due to the big collision potential. If that happens, adios punts too. IMO, the most exciting play in sports any type of Return-TD in football. In order 1) fumble 2) INT 3) kickoff 4) punt.
Not lowering your head to make contact? Banning kickoffs? If football is made "safe", will enough people still want to attend games and watch on TV? We are getting closer.
Punts and kickoffs are totally different things. With punting, there's only 1 player that's going the opposite direction of everyone else. With kickoffs, it's 11 on each side colliding. It's not the guy with the ball that's the primary issue in kickoffs - it's everyone else. Remember how everyone said banning head-to-head hits was going to destroy football? James Harrison saying there was no way to play football that way and there would be endless penalties? It took all of 1 season for the players to adapt and for fans to not miss it. It will be the same here. People always b**** about rule changes in all sports and then forget about it pretty quickly after. Zone defenses were supposed to be the end of good NBA basketball. Ending catcher collisions in baseball was so controversial and provoked so much anger from players in 2016 and then was totally normal in 2017. At the end of the day, players will learn to tackle without needing their heads and lots of football players will hopefully have more functional brains in 30 years. The thing that would actually kill football is CTE causing parents to not allow their kids to play football anymore.
