The DC comic nerds know the answer because the director elaborated on it. It's NOT connected to the Affleck movie universe (or the Keaton movie universe, which is now connected to the Affleck movie via Flash). I know that much. But the answer you are looking for does now exist. Someone nerdier than me can tell you if it might relate to any of the other movies, like Joker or Shazam.
Right now, it is not connected to any other movie. The logical choice if that changes would be Joker, based on tone and design choices of the movie.
Nope. Batman does not need to say something about the state of the world,he is a fictional comic book character and he has never been a messiah figure, you are way over thinking this.
So you think we need another Batman film series? Why? The character is awesome (even if it’s an unrealistic depiction of silver spoon billionaires) and this film looks amazing but I just don’t know why we need another Batman film unless they are going to shake up what the film has to say. I’m a film and music snob so it’s a hobby of mine to overthink film, music, and TV. I’m not judging this film before I see it too. I’m just asking the question why do Batman unless you have something pretty compelling to show. Also I love the sort of post punk look of the film and of Pattinson. Kind of reminds me of original movie The Crow in its look and tone which sends nostalgia shivers down my spine.
No I don't think we particularly need another Batman but the character lens itself to many interpretations. I also don't mind themes that reflect the state of the world but I don't like messaging in a film or interpretations of what a billionaire should be or the police force, the characters should serve the story IMO.
Who here hated the 1st Keaton Batman? I wasn't sure about Keaton going in but he was fine but when Batman took Vickie Vale to the batcave midway in I was appalled, nobody was taken to the batcave it was sacred. Me and my buddy where very meh about the whole experience and a lot of it was because he took her to the batcave. I was in college at the time so it was a somewhat informed decision.
They keep making Batman movies because people like Batman. It's actually pretty simple. They released a Joker movie last year and it made a billion dollars.
Anyone heard anything about the rumor that Batman is a homosexual in this movie? I am cool with it, I don't judge, just surprised there hasn't been more discussed about his supposed relationship with Gordon.
Billionaire Batman suit is off the chain Throws Gold Batarangs at these cheap ass criminals! Penguin Bernie got nothing on Bruce Wayne @Invisible Fan
WTF, if he just hand the gold batarang to cheap criminals than throw it at them and injure them for life, they wouldn't be stealing. What a blood thirsty sadist! So this is what that Baldy Bezos spends on with all our Prime Subs...
