That's another good one! Touch is crazy. Lose yourself to dance. The prevalence of traditional instruments is pretty shocking at first for a Daft Punk album. They weren't kidding when they said they wanted to try and use guitars and drums to accomplish the same sounds they previously had to use computers for. It's shocking that they've pulled it off so well. This album is just smooth.
I just realized it's Julian Casablancas handling vocals on Instant Crush. Totally forgot he was on the album.
I listened to the full stream on itunes that they released today while working. It's definitely a solid album. Very mellow, and relaxing. A little hard to discern between different songs on the first go around. I thought a couple of songs were the Pharrel one, but they weren't. I think the Pharrel one is the best track... and I'm not a Pharell fan or anything.... I just like it.
Some very nice natural sounds mixed in there! Really, RAM is just the warm-up for this; https://bleep.com/boards-of-canada-tomorrows-harvest
Not the usual "Daft Punk" sound, but then again, what is? I like this album, very relaxing and mature. Also like that groovy vibe. 'Fragments of time' reminds me of a Jamiroquai song. I enjoyed about 70% of the album, which is rare. Lets hope they won't wait another 5+ years to put another one out...
lol..i put them on spotify and listened to a lot of their tracks. Very relaxing and mellow stuff, something i can jam trying to sleep lol..but to make them out to be better than Daft Punk is crazy..
I like BOC too but I don't "warm up" with Daft Punk to listen to them. I'm getting pissed off one of my cabinet speakers aren't working because I can't help but want to blast this thought the house and light up!! Especially to "Touch"
The 2 groups are more than similar in many ways, their 2 lp's are the major electronic releases this year w/BoC's being 8 years in the making. RAM is a lite, very easy listen compared to what is coming from the masters.
Just came out and available now. It is amazing! Their single "Get Lucky" has already shattered streaming records. Does anyone think the album may break records?
