    Speeches do have consequences apparently.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/181916/a...agrss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=syndication

Ironic chorus of applause for the man who has done the most he could to bring America closer to despotic Iran and further from Israel. As if to prove he couldn't do enough on this front, he's also ruptured the American military's view of Israeli-American relations.

    http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/2/2/netanyahu-visit-concerns-american-generals.html

This is what happens when you try to "humiliate" a foreign leader--especially one upon which your country depends. It's what happens when you have a weak grasp of domestic policies that matter to your voters such as the housing crisis, and you spend most of your time peacocking around the world.

Discuss--it's only a trend and can be reversed in the elections. But it does seem quite a few Israelis are as tired of Bibi as some Western leaders.

I think Israel deserves Netanyahu. If the other guys win they are just slicker and can pretend to have more humane policies. No relief in sight for Palestinian human rights as long as the US keeps backing those policies.

About as flawed as saying don't trust republicans because they are white Christians.

Netanyahu probably will continue as Prime Minister even if Likud loses its majority. Bibi, an adroit deal maker, is highly skilled at knitting together coalitions.

BTW, Det, you should use the sarcastic rolly eyes for the less perceptive. :)

Poor ATW doesn't do nuance well.

People who criticize Israel's actions are anti-Semitic. Nuff said.

I do think anything Herzog (the main leftist opposition figure) does would be better than the damage Bibi has wrought. As others have pointed out, it's still likely Bibi will remain prime minister however due to the intricacies of Israeli coalition politics--but it is satisfying to see the right lose ground in Israel.

Rabin might have been a hardass on Iran and started stoking the fire of regionalism that continues unabated today, but he was pretty solid on being fair-minded with the PLO. The left being in power in Israel would be quite healthy for the peace process: if there even is hope for it now.

There was no nuance in your statement. It once again showed your anti-semitic hate.

The only possible translation of this ludicrous statement is exactly what I translated it as: "Don't trust them, they are Jews" (© glynch)

Or maybe don't trust a government that has tried its hardest not to negotiate in good faith.

I don't share Glynch's sentiment--I think anybody would be worlds better than Bibi who has ironically lost Israel standing in the international community, pissed off the American stakeholders who matter, and watched as Iran took over Damascus, Yemen, Baghdad, and Beirut through various proxies.

His belligerent attitude has perhaps stemmed from his realization that he is failing atrociously both domestically and internationally by his quick jumps to scorch-earth solutions that may offer small short-term returns over devastating long-term implications.

I am glad that the Israeli people seem to be thinking the same way, though I await to see if it ultimately knocks Bibi off his throne. I am hoping for the best--and the best, at the moment, is Herzog.

I have said it before and I will say it again, if the Palestinians(and radical Islamist) laid down their arms today there would be immediate peace with two states quickly to follow. If Israel laid down their arms today they would be driven into the Mediterranean Sea. As long as terrorist are in charge of the Palestinian people Israel needs a strong leader like Netanyahu.

Except that has happened in the past where the Palestinians lay down their arms and there wasn't immediate peace. Instead Palestinians continued to have more Israeli settlements built on their land, as well policies that discriminate against them.

Israel won't recognize their refugees. Instead they're putting them in prisons.

It doesn't matter who's in charge... They suck.

    This is exactly true.

And contrary to the BS propaganda by FBlade, the Palestinians never laid down their arms. They just built new terror tunnels and restocked their rocket depots, while sending out desperate people to run over and stab Israelis.

Is there one entity of Palestinians where every individual unit shares one hive mind?

strength doesn't come from bulldozing your enemies to the ground. That is fear.

Rabin had strength: he had conviction to believe in solutions that would last for the long term rather than the short term. He was murdered by the Israeli right wing for it.

You can say all you want though-- ultimately it is up to the Israeli people to decide. I personally hope they decide for hope rather than fear.

not like Fatah and Hamas were at each other's necks before Bibi decided invading Gaza and violently reacting to protests in the West Bank was the way to go.

Now they're in each other's arms. Another mark of rank incompetence from Bibi.
