someone in here said 2-3 weeks ago that nba should expand to nbdl where they can send player to team and let him develope.the commisnor did propose to nbdl to expand. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1810199
I am the one that said that. I think it should be like Minor league baseball, then all those 18 year olds could really develop. DD
Really! I think Austin would be perfect for an NBDL Rocket team... you have a natural market for the Rockets, a city starved for professional sports (see Round Rock Express for proof), and only one possible hangup (a big one!), and that's where they would play. Would the Erwin Center be a plausible option? I wonder...
Somehow, I don't think a Dwight Howard would go into the minor leagues anyway. Neither would a Darko Milicic or Shaun Livingston. Very few players would actually go there, so what's the point really? Why not just send them to the NBDL?
They would go into the minor leagues if they were still getting paid the big contracts, and they would get a chance to develop. It makes perfect since.......College used to be the NBA's minor league but now players are skipping it or playing only one year and the NBA is suffering from a lack of fundamentals, making the game almost unbearable to watch.
