Spooner jvu vs. LCAhmed -- i'm undecided, even talent, great offenses, neither team can stop the other Yung-T Torque VBG RedNation
I really don't think my team is bad, but it doesn't stand a chance against Kevin Durant. The way Durant is playing right now, with decent players like Donatas has, he should run away with it. Lebron's team is the only one that stands a chance against it.
If it's about offense, then how did I lose in rd.1 with a Durant/Dirk/Shaq frontline in the last all time draft. Offensively that's about as good as it gets. Not only people care about defense, but it gets overvalued to absurd degrees most of the time.
I agree with this. Not saying that defense is not important, but the idea that players like Tony Allen and Thabo Seflosha are way more valuable then players like Monta Ellis or Joe Johnson is far fetched.
I think your team is great, one of the best. Blake Griffin has some case that he's the best big man in the league right now. And CP3 is the best guard. I'd say my supporting players are a bit more than decent though, Conley/Lopez have both played at an all star level this year. Conley / Dragic should probably be all stars over Parker and Lillard, but I suppose they wanted to reward top teams. It's an interesting matchup. You'll have problems with Durant and Lopez, but I'll have lots of problems with Blake Griffin as well. Griffin is just too powerful for John Henson (or almost any PF for that matter. Although I have a lot of shot blockers, so maybe that compensates somewhat. It would be a very fun series to watch.
What's up with Spooner stealing everyone's starters for his bench, first George Hill, now Kevin Martin.
Your team has some obvious flaws--Brook Lopez's rebounding and defense, for example. Lopez is like the Kevin Martin of centers--fools gold. His offense may or may not outweigh his lack of defense. There is a reason Brooklyn has played better without him. Overall it doesn't matter because of the Durant factor and that Conley has been really good this year. I offered everything I had for Durant and got shot down, for good reason. He is that good. OKC is first in the West with players not all that good besides Ibaka around Durant.
I think all teams do. It's just how a capped 16 people draft works. You try to compensate, for example, John Henson is one of the better rebounding and shot blocking PFs in the league this year. But it takes away from something else, for instance I would've loved another shooter at 4. When I say your team is great, i don't mean that it has no weaknesses. Your perimeter spacing is questionable, with Jimmy Butler having a poor year and Harrison Barnes being quite a ball stopper. Interior defense clearly is below average, although Favors helps off the bench. By great, I mean that's it's great within reason, considering the draft format. Blake Griffin really dropped too far, he's much better than late 2nd round. I think that's a bit simplistic way to look at it. It's kind of like, the Rockets didn't lose a beat when Yao went down during that win streak 5 or 6 years ago, so Yao must suck. The Nets other players are much healthier now and meshing as team. Before Lopez went down, they were clearly better with him. They were 2-7 without Lopez, 7-10 with him. They've also been a much better defense with him for the last two years now, as opposed to without him. People focus on mobility and pick and roll defense, which is important, but there's also a lot of value to what a 7 - 7'1 behemoth in the paint who blocks shots can do for you. He has flaws obviously, but you are exaggerating quite a bit there.
