This round will also be first to 6. Everything like before. Deadline at 3 am. In case of a tie, last vote doesn't count. I thought of doing it faster but then i don't think most people are in a hurry for a new draft so i think we can take it slow and finish over a few days
Horry33 - I'm guessing John Wall will start. Shumpert + Lebron can try and slow down Jordan. I like Horry's frontcourt slightly better. Jamers has the best defensive starting lineup though. I think Horry gets just enough buckets. jvu - I could see JMC's team realtively struggle to score. Moses will get his down low but jvu's defense matches up really well with waht JMC does well. Even though Rondo can't shoot, everyone else on JVU's team can. I love Bird too. I think his peak was as high as anyone. Manu did not have a good year this year. It was a terrible Manu year. He still has the creativity but he screws up a lot. RedNation has fantastic shooters around Kareem and Duncan which makes it hard. Blake is a little too short to guard Duncan consistently. Leaning RedNation but not really sure who to pick.
Jamers - much better overall defense, I would Love to see a final seconds possession of Jordan guarding Lebron and vice versa... I just think horrs bc losses it for him... Jvu - i like how his team matches up. Defends jmcs best players and had slight edge in other areas. RedN - i like his balance and Love his fc. Thething - vbg matches up well until the fc, were the thing is just dominate. You can cancel out any drive and dish by wb.
Horry. Just more talent, imo. Both teams should work well, both have good defenders where it matters. I guess I'd be curious to see who guards LeBron here. Would Jordan be physically overmatched? Thad Young? Still, one of them will likely do a solid job. But in the end, Horry has the more talented "big 3" and probably a bit more talented overall starting lineup. And he has a major advantage off the bench. jvu/jmc. undecided. 50/50. Neither team has a major defensive hole to exploit in this matchup. They seem similarly talented as well, Jmc has arguably better starters but jvu has better bench. thething. comparable talent level, VBG has the better backcourt, Kirilenko over Gallo, Ibaka and Millsap are a wash, thething has the better bench and Hakeem. IMO, it comes down to how each team will score. thething has a lot of versatility, while VBG's team will rely heavily on midrange game (hard to win that way vs. a team this good) and scoring near the rim (which is tricky vs. Hakeem/Ibaka). VBG could give major minutes to Vince instead of Kirilenko which would give him two good shooters, but that's a talent downgrade.
Horry vs Jamers FC:Horry- Barkley, LeBron, Hibbert. Noah and Horford is a nice reunion, but not enough. Thad Young is nice, but not a game changer, especially at SF. BC: Jamers- MJ.... Bench: close, but Horry - Both benches are great, but I feel Wright>Webster and Monroe>Splitter. Wall>Teague>Kidd so depending on how the starting vs bench player thing goes. Offense: Jamers- Slight edge to Jamers here. MJ > LeBron on scoring. Barkley>Horford. everyone else kind of cancels eachother out. Defense: Horry- LeBron, Shump, and Hibbert are all great defenders, but so are MJ, Hill, and Noah. Advantage Horry though in my book. Winner- Horry in a close one. JVU vs JMC FC:JVU- Bird, West, Garnett vs Moses, Varejao and George. JVU by a long shot. Bird is a GOAT, Garnett is close to a GOAT, West is clutch. Moses is a GOAT, Varejao is okay, George is still young but promising. BC:JMC- Pierce not really a SG but okay lets roll with it. D Will and Pierce is deadly. Rondo and Butler has no shooting power, but great D. edge to JMC though. Bench:JVU - I personally like Bradley, MKG, and Drummond a lot. Copeland I am not a big fan of (havent watched him play though), Valenculous is good, Watson is decent. Slight edge to JVU OFF: JMC - I hate to go against Bird, but JMC has a great offensive team with D Will, Pierce, George, and Moses. Rondo and Butler killed JVU's vote. DEF:JVU - Rondo, Butler, and KG shut down defenders. George is a great defender, Moses a good defender, Varejao a good defender. Edge to Jvu Winner JVU Will do West Voting later on
Im not drafting Paul George before melo garnett again nobody gives him the credit to be selected second in the east
I think Paul George was a great pick when you consider skill & salary. It allowed you take Paul Pierce later when I had to pass him up and take a cheaper guy in JOhn Wall.
Salary of course but skill wise twice in these draft doesnt really give me an advantage in voting against other teams
nobody gives Melo, Wade and DWill too much credit either, and i think they are the other options.. it just sucks to be no.2 in the East, i had that luck in the previous draft. It's better to be no.4. well, at least you got Moses to drop to you, one could make a good case that he's the best center in the East, that's very nice for the 7th pick. that said, i think this matchup is very close. jmc clearly has the better backcourt, and the frontcourt looks pretty much even. jvu clearly has a better bench. jvu has probably the better overall defense, more efficient scoring, but jmc dominates the boards and gets extra opportunities. i think one way or the other, it's going 7.
It contends most of the time and has a good chance to win, but yeah. And in a draft like this, where LeBron's team gets punished with a weaker HOFamer, there's even less reason to complain. Horry's team is good because he's drafted well + he was lucky with Maloe and some other people getting skipped in round 3 + someone traded him Monroe on the cheap, and Monroe is a borderline all star. And still, i don't think he has the clear best team -- one of the best and a possible winner, sure.
