Asik and Lin for Rondo would be great for all parties. Rondo would be a fantastic facilitator for the Rockets, Asik would get a starting job, and Lin would have the green light to shoot at will in Boston.

Everyone seems to think a PG should be a classic pass-first playmaker when it's been proven that different types of PGs can be winners/great. Every PG that can score is "more of a 2" even if they've never played off-the-ball in their lives. I really don't understand the fascination with playmaking, pass-first PGs when in the frame work of a team, a PG that runs the offense isn't really necessary if you have other ball-handlers/playmakers.

There really isn't a need for a traditional PG on this team when you have multiple ball handlers on this team. Perhaps it's because of the Magic Johnson era through the 1980s and early 1990s and remember its obvious, everyone loved Magic Johnson. When a pass-first PG works it is really fun to watch, hence all the fans for Nash and now Rubio/Rondo. Everyone is expecting the next Magic but even Magic was a regular 20 PPG scorer in the playoffs.

The smallest player on the court isn't going to have the most impact. Championship winning teams are usually built on bigs and elite scoring wings.

You don't need an all star point guard, but if you can get rondo for asik and lin you do it. I remember him averaging a triple double for a playoff series.
