Here's my Mock. This according to if the Texans trade with Arizona. (#1 for #6 and 2nd rounder). Round 1: Andre Johnson WR Miami Round 2: Troy Polamalu SS USC Round 2: Lee Suggs RB VT Round 3: Steve Scuillo OT Marshall Round 3b: Mario Haggan LB Mississippi State Round 3c: Kevin Williams DT Oklahoma State Round 4: Marques Ogden OT/OG Howard (if he lasts this long) Round 4b: Seneca Wallace KR/WR Iowa State (wishful thinking) Round 5: Lance Briggs LB Arizona Round 5b: DeJuan Groce CB Nebraska Round 6: Anthony Adams DT Penn State Round 6b: Eddie Moore LB Tennesee Round 7: Jordan Black OT Notre Dame Round 7a: Donnie Nickey FS Ohio State (if he's there) There is my dream draft for the Houston Texans. We get a lot of athletic players who haven't even scapped the surface. They emerge. We start winning.
I would be extremely happy if the draft falls in place like that for the Texans. It takes care of several positions and lands dynamic offensive players in Johnson and Suggs. I think Suggs might be gone though. Is the 5th rounder Ogden a brother of the pro?
I think, to Jonathan Ogden of the Ravens? P.S - I messed up, Ogden was supposed to be a 4th rounder in my draft. I fixed it.
I hope we can land Wallace in the 4th round. He can mix up the offense a little like Randel-El does with the Steelers.
Kevin Williams is projected be a posible first round pick. As for Seneca Wallace, he supposedly looked quite uncomfortable playing running back at the Senior Bowl. If we want him, I think he'll be available in the 5th round or possibly lower. Also, I'd switch the Suggs and Polamalu picks. The rest of the mock draft looks pretty good, though.
I hope we could get Lee Suggs in the fourth round....His knee may be a concern, but I'd probably spend a third rounder on him. I doubt Ogden is the brother of the pro, what kind of parent would have two kids with the same name?
Naw, it's Marques Ogden. My bad. I didn't mean to put Seneca in the 4th, I meant to put Lance Briggs in the 4th.
I imagine you're talking about Willis McGahee, not Lee Suggs. If Suggs lasts beyond the top half of the second round, a few GMs will be in dire need of a firing (and a good old-fashioned butt-kicking, too).
Here's my Mock. This according to if the Texans trade with Arizona. (#1 for #6 and 2nd rounder). Round 1: Andre Johnson WR Miami Round 2: Kevin Williams DT Oklahoma State If he's there, if not Troy Polamalu SS USC Round 2: Kelly Washington WR Tennesse Round 3: Ben Johnson, OT, Wisconsin Round 3b:Sammy Davis, CB, Texas A&M Round 3c: Best center of Al Johnson, C, Wisconsin Jeff Faine*, C, Notre Dame Brett Romberg, C, Miami Round 4: Mike Pinkard, TE, Arizona State Round 4b: Seneca Wallace KR/WR Iowa State (wishful thinking) Round 5: Lance Briggs LB Arizona Round 5b: DeJuan Groce CB Nebraska Round 6: Anthony Adams DT Penn State Round 6b: Terrence Holt, S, North Carolina State Round 7: Jordan Black OT Notre Dame Round 7a: LaMarcus McDonald, OLB, Texas Christian Then in free agency Stacy Mack from Jacksonville and Donavin Darious. Will finish later got to go to work!
Wow. If McDonald is miraculously there in the 7th round (and I say he'll go in the second or third round), that would be the absolute steal of the draft. Same goes for Terrence Holt.
I've been saying for the longest that Senaca Wallace could potentially be a Randle- El type player. I'd love for the Texans to get him. I'd also like to see them get Anquan Bolden from Florida State. He's a big reciever at 6-2, 226. He's a playmaker.
My mock draft: Trade! We give Cincy our #1, #3b, and #5a picks for their #1) Round 1: Charles Rogers, WR, Michigan St. Round 2: Troy Polamalu, S, USC Round 3a: Jeff Faine, C, Notre Dame Round 3c: Tony Pashos, OT, Illinois Round 4a: Rashean Mathis, CB, Bethune-Cookman Round 4b: Justin Fargas, RB, USC Round 5b: Pisa Tinoisamoa, LB, Hawaii Round 6a: Dallas Clark, TE, Iowa Round 6b: Matt Leonard. DT, Stanford Round 7a: Walter Young, WR, Illinois Round 7b: Mario Haggan, LB, Mississippi St.
Another interesting prospect is Teyo Johnson from Stanford. He's a 6-7, 240 pound receiver. Some of the scouting reports say he has a way to go before he can be considered a big time player. With that much size at that position I think he's someone to keep an eye on.
Teyo is a total wildcard because he could go anywhere from the first round to the fifth. He could go fairly high based on his athleticism, potential, and his ability to play multiple positions. Look for some team to take a gamble and reach for him in the draft. Personally, I'd love to have him...
I think McDonald's stock took a big hit when he showed up at the senior bowl weighing in at 209 lbs. He's to slow to play in the secondary and to small to play LB. If he shows up at the combine at his normal playing weight and performs well he might get picked in the third round, IMO.
On most of the draft boards I've seen he is a solid 2nd round pick. Some have him going as high as late 1st round.
Not going to happen. We will not trade picks away. We will be in the mode of trading down to get more picks...not trading up to get fewer.
