James is now +105 Others (I guess Westbrick) is at -135 James is completely ducked. He was at -135 a few days ago. At this point James now needs to play through the injury and hope Westbrick has some chucking games with losses. Can't believe this ****. James should have sat out against warriors...what a huge mistake!
So Westbrook is now the odds on favorite? That sounds about right. Harden severely hurt his case these last 3 games. Westbrook was close to losing games to the Mavericks and Magic but instead ended up with a monster triple double in both games while beasting in the clutch.
Not enough MVP threads, need MOAR of these, even MOAR But seriously OP, do you get off starting a thread? You could have posted this in any one of the other gazillion MVP threads already existing
and people complain about MY thread starting privileges . . . a nice opportunity for me to re-use this DMo thread meme. Not many opportunities to use this one anymore.
Had anyone else in the last 52 years averaged a triple double, then this would be James' award. It's the novelty of "first time in more than 50 years" that will get Westbrook the trophy. As a side note, Oscar came really freakin' close to average a triple double each of his first FIVE YEARS in the league. That's amazing, and his team probably didn't hand him 3 or 4 rebounds a game, either.
Westbrick -185 all others +135 It's over. I'm sad and so is James. Hope he doesn't go into depression mode and show Next year at 300 lbs
The year that Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double, he averaged 30.8 points a game, 12.5 rebounds a game and 11.4 assists. That is pretty ridiculous. But he was only in 3rd in MVP voting. That same year, Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 points a game, 25.7 rebounds a game and 48.5 minutes per game. Those numbers are all absolutely insane. But Wilt was only in second. Bill Russell won the MVP that year. I'm not sure why averaging a triple double automatically makes Westbrook the favorite for the MVP this year.
If Harden doesn't win an MVP in Houston he will go to LA and get one there. Harden wants the media to like him and that won't be here.
Morey better get a star or 2 to put around Harden. If Paul George actually does end up in LA, then that would already be better than what Harden has in Houston and would have players flocking to go and play for the Lakers. Winning in LA would do a lot for his brand as well. Morey has some work to do.
Sorry, chaps, I only bet on the PLAYERS MVP award winner - a far more civilized pursuit. It's baccarat compared to the slot machine of betting on regular MVP Let me know when you start a thread on that....till then, yawn.
