"Mr Jones." by the counting crows I believe it was Freud who gave us the concept of 'the id' to define our basic desires and impulses inherited at birth. Mr. Jones is written from the point of view of a conflicted individual who desires success but doesn't know exactly why. He's lost with very little confidence, sexual frustration. He's lonesome but has hope. " She's suddenly beautiful We all want something beautiful Man, I wish I was beautiful. So come dance the silence down through the morning Sha la, la, la, la, la, la, la. " Was there even a Mr. Jones ;or was it all traumatic hysteria? I never appreciated this song in its original release. I was 11 in 1993 waiting for the Ice cube or the dr. dre videos to come on. "Mr. Jones." is one that will take you on a voyage of nostalgia, a staple of the 90s. It was voted as one of the cheesiest songs by the new "VH1". Don't let the dad moves and happy guitars fool you.
^ @2:59 The song is ingrained in my mind along with this short film: Spoiler Permian Strata (1969) by Bruce Conner

I saw them on this tour w/HK from BotM; show was @ Rockerfellers, they played in almost total darkness, they had 1 stage light and it was dark blue. We counted the drummer do 1 1!! fill the whole show; as a drummer I know the massive amount of discipline that takes. They were one of the 1st bands I saw, JAMC & Spiritualized also that had this very serious rock n roll vibe to them. Like they were the VU or Suicide, you could smell it on them, they lived the life...
