    listening to the new fiona apple again. can't really quit it. nothing particularly outstanding i can say about it beyond it being recorded very well. she's a great writer but i think this is her best album. not really any pop songs save the best song on the album- anything we want (which in a better world would be a hit and then become a classic). just raw, beautiful and imperfect, just as things are.

    I was lucky enough to see her at the Ryman this past July and it was arguably the best concert I have ever seen. Granted, I haven't seen as many artists as I have wanted but I ranked her performance ahead of Wilco, Sigur Ros, Interpol, and Bruce Springsteen and all of those shows were great, in their own right.

    Agreed! I liked the song the first time I heard it, but it didn't really hit me until I saw the video... I'm not sure what that says about me as a music consumer--perhaps it was the image that sold me?? Oh well, I enjoy the song now!

    After a couple weeks digesting it, it's still a letdown, but I like the album nonetheless.
