I have yet to find one that compares to the Kings of Leon from '08' I jammed it on the iPod all throughout Ike, so that makes it that much better. More memories and stuff.
I don't think I purchased a single album this year. I didn't illegally download any new music, either. I just haven't been into any new releases.

I saw Bon Iver live last night in concert. He mentioned that his band was going to "meet David Letterman on Thursday." Then a second later he jokingly goes "we're probably not going to meet him at all." Bon Iver is really great and the story of how his album was created is even better. He went into a cabin in the wilderness of Wisconsin and stayed there all by himself for 7 months. He wrote and composed all the songs on his album while in this cabin. Definitely check out his album. It is the best of 2008, in my opinion.
I just got the latest Wolf Parade album yesterday. I love it. I loved Apologies to the Queen Mary a ton as well. I can't judge fairly without more listens, but Apologies... seemed a little more unique or inspired, but just by a hair. Both albums are really solid. I have to say that I've never really cared for the Killers. Plenty of other people who's music tastes are usually similar and who's music opinion I respect, love the Killers. I think I like one song, and hate one song of theirs' from both albums. I also hate their cover version of Shadowplay. They ruined an awesome song. The rest of their songs are just OK. Maybe I'm just missing something Vampire Weekend would have to be on my list of the best as well. It was a breath of retro fresh air.
Butthole Surfers - Live Here Now (London 26/7/2008) Vampire Weekend MGMT - Oracular Spectacular I can't even think of anything else that was released in 2008...
