Answer me this, where is this film's target audience? Parents take their kids to see cartoons, guys like action, girls enjoy romantic mush, and everyone generally agrees on comedy. What is Moulin Rouge? What is this suppossed to be? Is it a scary movie starring ghostly white Nicole Kidman? She should've mixed in a trip to the beach before showing so much light skin. Do they actually expect people to waste their money on this movie? I'm confused and open to answers. ------------------ the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
I always wait for the reviews first, but the preview intriqued me. It was certainly a dark and mysterious musical, part love story, and possibly part considertaion of Degas and why he painted the dancers. I like the preview myself. I'm waiting for the reviews first, but it caught my attention, so I hope that it turns out good. I like to paint and maybe that is what drew me in. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
This is the same director who did Romeo and Juliet set in modern times a few years back. It was terrible too. ------------------ The internet is about the free exchange and sale of other people's ideas. - Futurama
You say "too". Have you seen the film yet or are you saying that it's terrible before you actually see it? ------------------

I actually liked the Romeo + Juliet remake . . . This director has a very odd style that requires some getting used too. He also did a great movie called "Strictly Ballroom" which was better than R+J. I don't know anything about this movie, but I may go see it just because I like the director and I've been happy with everything he's done. ------------------ blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Moulin Rouge is a complete waste of a film. That someone went into a producers office and laid down this idea is bad enough, but that the producer said YES is one the true wonders of the world. ------------------ Don't think....just throw. Don't think....just throw.
You know, I didn't mind the revised Romeo and Juliet as much as I thought. The old one was better, but it introduced Shakespeare to people who wouldn't otherwise have seen it at all, and managed to stay fairly faithful to the original. I thought the ending, where they realized their error, was brilliant. ------------------ A few years back on the Senate floor... Phil Gramm: "If Democrats could, they'd tax the air we breathe." There sre some songs that shouldn't be remade - "Lady Marmalade" is one of them. Terrible song, just terrible. Oh, and Nicole Kidman probably doesn't have a tan because she can't get one. ------------------ This space currently being renovated. We apologize for the inconvenience. Rocketman standing up for his movies, I love it I enjoy what many would consider crappy movies. (probly not Moulin Rouge though) btw Rm95, just saw wonder boys recently, awesome flick. Probly the best performance of Douglas's career. Hmm, I wonder if that's saying much. ------------------ snap crackle pop
