Nope. We honestly gave up our leadership position. If not with the Iraq mess, or drone warfare, then definitely electing Two Scoops and "America first," (subtitle: we'll kill the others later). The chair for "leader of the free world" is now empty. Merkel visits it when she can, but not that many people are looking to her from outside of Germany.
No, I have to travel a lot in Europe for my business and even split my time living in Northern Ireland. The United States is still viewed as the leader of the West. There is a lot of disdain for Trump and some of our policies for sure; but a lot of people in Europe view us as simply bored and spoiled.

Not even so much that they are giving us a mulligan. They just seem to realize that the US economy has a huge impact on the rest of the world and we have a military from hell that is capable of destroying the world. It isn't a matter of liking us (although in most of Western Europe they like individual Americans), just the realities of the situation. My place and office is in Northern Ireland. When I first started spending time there I suspected I would get bored. Not at all, the people are very nice, the food is very good and priorities are clearer. I would recommend it to anyone.
