deserves its own thread: Darnell Mourney doing a fun 8 move checkmate on the league this season. Somebody with better skills please post that photo. It should be a new clutchfans meme
I'd like to sit down and play him a game .... years ago I could play blindfolded , every move from memory (Damn that's been a few decades ago) , have played a couple Grand Masters in the past , Viktor Korchnoi being one of them , he was a legend.
I can tell you the guy playing back doesn't have a clue about the game. He's moved the queen knight twice (once to the edge of the board where knights are useless) and moved the C , D and F pawns two positions each .... creating a backwards pawn on the E file. In general you spend the first 10-12 moves developing your major pieces while attempting to control the center and protecting your king. Dude did none of the above.
in the comments of the tweet .... Susan Polgar (First female Grandmaster ever) "If I beat him blindfold will he do a reno on my house?"
I had a few conversations with a guy who was a Grandmaster at age 13. He also developed something that is pretty good at Go...
wasn't there like a 7 move check mate? i forgot, but I've used it in high school before. it was totally dependant on your opponent being dumb and not moving major pieces around the king and queen.
There is a 4 move checkmate .... but it ignores all principals and is easily defended after which black has the advantage.
