Beauty of the farm system... the Giants will get the best years out of him, and then he can go make his megabucks for somebody else while being a lesser pitcher.

Then again, these are the same Giants who made Barry Zito the highest paid pitcher ever, so they were still part of the problem.

Cliff Lee will also prove that signing starting pitchers to big long deals as they turn 30 never really pays off in the end.

helicopters everywhere. downtown buildings have lit their rooflines orange. It is truly fabulous.

God but this team has been fun to root home.

    Hello.

You haven't posted in an hour.

    Two things.

    1) You are out rioting right now.

    2) They set your house on fire, and you can't file a report.

Am back! Pretty good behavior all around. Lots of impromptu fireworks, high fives with passing cars, beer in the streets, chants of "let's go giants!"

Best of all, you have 12-yr-old kids out and 70-yr-old dudes who remember when the giants moved here.

This is the best scene I've been in since the Rockets beat the Knicks in game 7. That meant a lot more to me, safe to say, but this is pretty damned fun.

High fiving people in cars while they honk their horns is surprisingly fun.

I am very much so jealous.

I've never been able to experience a championship run come to full fruition ;/

Was far to young to enjoy the Rockets runs.

    Hopefully the time comes soon......

Local neighborhood bar turns into street party. Lots of good vibes. What you can't see her is all the kids in fake beards. :)

    Oh man, that looks awesome.

Can't wait for that type of scene here in Houston in February when our local team wins the Super Bowl.

Or in June when the Rockets win the Finals.

Everyone I talked to out there was talking about voting for Prop 19 (legalizing grass) in honor of Lincecum. Watch it pass in the voting tomorrow -- LOL!

They really did. Got all tight somehow. You could see it in their faces, just having no fun at all, dreading their at-bats. I can't explain it.

Please God, please! You can always count on NorCal for these kinds of things. Hopefully the foagies out here in the Southland don't come out en masse.

I'm finally heading back to Hawaii.. people here in Dallas were super cool, they congratulated us on the win no one was a poor loser. The fans looked/acted deflated during game 4. They knew they lost the series. When game 5 was about to start I overheard a ranger fan say I don't care if we win or lose because if we lose we get to see a world series ceremony lol I laughed. ;)

I'm happy and exhausted I got a ton of pictures from the world series and the trophy.. it was the giants time.

This series goes to show you best pitching is greater than best hitting

Oh and Tim lincecum is way better than lee :p

They did show up - the Giants had the better pitching and the more timely hitting. Defense wins championships in football and good to great pitching will always win out over good to great hitting.

That's how I felt when the 'Stros made it a few years ago. There's such a LACK of parity in MLB that it's awesome when your team makes it if it isn't in NY or Boston.
