Udoka was pretty ticked off when they told him about this. But I guess Paul Allen gets to meddle in personnel decisions every once in a while.

Exactly! He and Collins were told they were competing for a spot on the team. The consensus was Udoka had won. This is why he was so ticked off. I don't blame him one bit.

After team USA beat Australia in the quarter-finals of the Olympics:

He didn't have to say that. I seriously think Mills is AB 2.0, except better as a PG.

A_3P0, how do you think the Blazers view Bayless at this point? Is he a long-term piece or not?

Definitely not. He just doesn't fit that team. Unless Blake totally implodes, Bayless won't get on the court. To make things even worse, if McMillan follows through on plans to put the ball in Rudy's hands more this season by letting him play part-time PG next to Roy, Bayless becomes even more irrelevant.

Bayless has two huge problems: His long-lost jumper and a need to dominate the ball to be effective. He was so awful last season I couldn't believe it. He was even terrible in summer league his 2nd time around. If he isn't traded during the season I will be shocked.

Interesting... a lot of people were pretty high on Bayless early on. Maybe he's one of those types that will put up good numbers on a bad team but never be a key piece on a contender. I'm sure he won't have a problem finding suitors given his age but it will be interesting to see what happens with him over the next few years.

I was very high on him but like nearly everyone who follows the Blazers, I've completely given up. Bayless' problems are completely between the ears.
