Difference of opinions is fine. Folks are just passionate . I wouldn't say someone's opinion is wrong just because I disagree with it. It's their opinion. Discussion gets interesting when each make a good case with sound reasons. For the most part, keeping it civil and respectful is best. There was another thread where the discussion went on about if Wilt really benched 500 lbs? It was a nice read because both sides made good cases. Almost made me want to get up do some push ups.
I notice when we lose and the mike d Antoni only fans somehow never talk about this I am a different type of Rockets fan I know the sports media are people looking for ratings and their paychecks prove my point also I know the different coaches and that each coach that has been fired because of their weaknesses imagine you think that the offense in the JVG era sucked and you get homers telling you it’s like marge’s Apple pie then JVG gets fired because he can’t get a team with talent to score 80 points Also didn’t we lose at home to the warriors who didn’t have Kevin Durant? Who was the coach who didn’t exploit that? I remember Rudy T moving Horry to the 4 so Rodman or another PF had to either stop double teaming Hakeem or leave Horry open at the 3 but who on this board cares about history but a handful
To me, there's a spectrum between flexibility and identity. While at times, I wish we were more flexible. Like a Nick Nurse, who throws different type of defense at different teams. MDA is more about: "This is our skill ball 3pt offense and this is our switch defense. We play our way and that's that". Some nights the lows are low, but objectively speaking we're a 4th seed and still competing for a championship. I really think MDA has deep regret not going with more 3's in the Nash era. Lot of that strengthens his resolve with the Rockets. Indirectly to his credit, Suns was irrelevant after Nash and MDA left. Nash left for L.A. in 2012. Suns in the dark ages for eight years, they finally have someone like Devin, who may turn things around. MDA's getting this 2nd chance here with Rockets. He's getting an opportunity that he didn't really have with the Knicks & Lakers (because of personnel and organization). For us, we'll all know soon enough if this will succeed in a GSW-less playoff. When a team does something abnormal, it's normal for fans to have some doubts. Doesn't mean they don't support the team., just that they have some doubts. We've been a franchise of big men, From Ralph, to the Dream, to the gentle giant. Feed the big man, and let him put in work. In general, Rocket fans think this skill-ball 3pt shooting style can work, as the results have shown, it's a matter of will it work well enough to get us a championship. I hope for our sake, if Rockets fall short, it's not because the team was too inflexible on adjustments in the playoffs.
This narrative that any Rockets fans HATE on the championship teams is hilarious. LOL Do you actually believe this delusion or is this part of your old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn act?
On game at a time hoss. You are so extreme, drowning in the past or getting lost in the future. Live in the present for once.
Elvin Hayes > Moses Malone > Ralph Sampson > Hakeem Olajuwon > Yao Ming > Dwight Howard Rockets Big Men are LEGEND. Time for James Harden to put an exclamation point for a new legacy of Rockets legend.
I’m not thinking of a series I’m thinking if we don’t advance to at least the conference finals Lost NBA Western Conference Semifinals (2-4) versus Golden State Warriors (Series Stats)
