Do I ask my neighbor how to steam broccoli? Equally relevant to your question, what is the sound of one hand clapping?

Trump is the id of the Republican party. He does all the base things that Republicans have always wanted to do instinctively, but always allowed the rational ego to stop them from doing. Maybe McConnell is the embodiment of the ego, but the id is running the show. Whenever reason would dictate caution or negotiation or moderation, he says **** that, we're doing it! This is just the latest example. Republicans have talked about doing this for many decades, but numerous Republican presidents were too governed by reason to be willing to do it. Trump isn't like that. Cue the Trumpers to tell me that's some kind of virtue.

I think it is quite clear to us and to the Palestinians that Trump's goal is not a two-state solution, nor is it Israel's goal. They want Israel for the Jews and it'd be best if the Palestinian problem would just disappear. If Palestinians want a nation, they'll have to fight. It is eminently clear Israel doesn't want them to have one and that Israel has the unequivocal support of the United States to effectuate that for at least 3 more years. If they achieve peace, it will be by the utter persecution and suppression of the Palestinians.

Israel does not want a two state solution nor do they want a one state solution that include Palestinians, they want to kick out all the Palestinians from Israel. Maybe the USA can take all of these people in LOL.

Opposing this move to defend anti-Semite Middle Eastern countries and people is just horrible. Especially considering that this rhetoric is coming from people who have constantly accused and implied that Trump is a Nazi.

Why now are you defending Nazis?

Well, it's a foregone conclusion now. Trump just pretty much confirmed what he is going to do in a cabinet meeting with words like "we're going to do something that's long overdue" and "other presidents didn't do because they didn't have the courage or whatever...". He's going to announce at 12 CST. Then, WWIII! "Hide yo wives...hide yo kidz! They be killin' peeps up in herez."

Trump confirmed what he was going to do when he ran for president.

It's not like this is 'new'. He is delivering on his promises, whether you like that or not-- which is something past presidents haven't had the courage to do.

I agree. I am a general supporter of Israel, and don't feel nearly as bad for the Palestinians plight as many others do, but this is just a bad decision for both Israel and the US. Peace will never be achieved with moves like this.

I like how trump supporters equate "doing things he said he would do" with courage. Doing things no matter how wrong...

You call that a threat? You think that is anti-Semitic?

    Are you ok today?

So all the wars, all the attacks, all the hate, and all the threats are “mental gymnastics”?

Actually... he's doing things that Bush, Clinton, the US Senate, said they would do and even Obama had the same position. How does that make you feel?

"Semite, person speaking one of a group of related languages, presumably derived from a common language, Semitic (see Semitic languages). The term came to include Arabs, Akkadians, Canaanites, some Ethiopians, and Aramaean tribes including Hebrews"

On the bright side, for our Bringer of Armeggedon-in-Chief, at least this move will re-focus terrorism back at Israel and the Middle East and away from us. For a while...

    America first? Not today.

Are you? It was obviously sarcasm. You made the incredibly stupid argument that people who are against this move must be Nazis. He pointed out that the Pope was one of the people against it with an obviously sarcastic reply.

Anyone want to bet money that somewhere in Trump's speech today he uses the phrase "My Evangelicals"?

Seriously though. Those of you that maybe don't have family, or friends that consume Christian Evangelical media might not realize what a big deal this is for that base. They welcome conflict over this issue in the region because it is prophecy fulfilled in their eyes.

*We see in Islamic extremist doctrine what lengths their followers are willing to go to fulfill prophecy. Dabiq was supposed to be the center for the battle for the end of the world according to their doctrine. Jerusalem is that place for Christians.

Here is some text about this to shed some light on the subject-

Make no mistake about it.... the Pat Robertson's and the James Dobsons have been all over this for years stirring up their base on this issue, and tying it to Jeruselem. Their followers welcome anything that would fulfill this prophecy, and nothing gets them more excited than fulfilling the book of Revelations so the good Christians can be raptured and the fight for the end of the world can take place.
