[Middle East] US embassy in Israel to be moved from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem

    The move is expected to be announced tomorrow.

    This would not make the news if it were not for the expected and very real threats against Israel and the United States over such an acute diplomatic issue.

    It's a d******d move. It will sadly lessen whatever position the U.S. had as a neutral arbitrator in any future peace process.

    Embassies don't need to be in a capital city. Especially when the city is a capital city of two places and is contested.

    But not their most populous city? It makes more sense upsetting that region by put the embassy in a very historical, sacred city in a very symbolic gesture?

    Well this certainly sounds more non-interventionist compared to those status quo, establishment, globalists that Trump and Co told us was the problem.

    Well, when only one of them is an actual country then there's no reason not to respect the country you do recognize by putting an embassy in their capital. Hell, if you really want, you can say it's a joint embassy for the one country and the one non country territory.

    If the USA want to have their embassy in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, then so be it. It doesn't hurt anyone. If anyone is outraged over this, they got the wrong priorities.
