    This is ridiculous. :mad:

    I am a die hard Maradona fan -- see my sig. Messi doesn't even come close to what Maradona had done, not in his wildest dream.

    It's like a teammate of Barry Bonds saying Barry Bonds is better than Babe Ruth despite never seeing Ruth play in person.

    I said before. The contexts were different.
    Maradona's goal was against an all-star English defense in the world cup when both team's lives and both countries' pride were on the line.
    Messi's goal was good, but meow, in a league match?
    You don't hear people ever talk how great Al Owairan was, right?

    Messi has a great personal skill and ability in organization, and his series of pre-market capabilities, other players are second to none. Maybe it approach Diego's level.
    But thinking about what Diego had done in Naples with your **** head. No one can repeat this mth.

    Messi has scored 8 goals in the last week, 2 of them will go down as a couple of the greatest of all time. Even before this he was already the most incredible player of his era, and will probably have an even greater influence on the game in 5 years.

    The Al Owairan goal was discombobulated and mostly luck. Messi's phenomenal ball control allows him to produce great moments every match and his vision is exemplary. Dumb thread.

    LOL, Maradona wasn't all that :rolleyes: You need to take Football 101...tmac101. Maradona was a beast, I'm too young to know much about his generation of football (during his prime), but since I lived in some football mad countries I've seen many of his big games. Messi is amazing but I think its too early to mention him as a GOAT, he really hasn't shown up for his national squad at all, until he performs at every level he can't be compared to Maradona. Barcelona really caters to his stengths, I've still got to see him perform when that isn't the case.....

    My son will beat Messi in 20 years. Dumb argument.

    What has Messi done so far in the World Cup? He is so great that he barely qualifies for world cup final round this year?
    Messi=D.Wade and Maradona = Jordan.
