Just goes to show you how volatile the value of that NY draft pick being held by the Rockets is. That team is an injury away from the lottery. Not to be morbid, but I hope it isn't too bad, not only for his sake but also because we lose the pick if it's top 5. I was also unaware that he had both knee and elbow surgeries in the offseason. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...cks-carmelo-anthony-hyperextends-knee-day-day
Is the prerequisite to get into the playoffs in the East still a pulse? I haven't been paying attention as of late #basketballreasons.
If Dwight goes to NJ you can definitely see them making a playoff push. Charlotte appears to have actually drafted well for once. And Washington always seems like they should be getting better. And then there's the Bucks. Of course if Dwight goes the NJ, Orlando might be much worse (depending on what they get back). NY finished 7 games ahead of the Bucks last year. With a shortened season, who knows. On paper though, especially when healthy, the Knicks should be a playoff lock.
Magic (with Dwight)/Nets(with Dwight/Nene), Celtics, Bulls, Heat, Pacers, Hawks, 76ers, Knicks are the eight playoff teams IMO.
Conceivably none. But then again, here's a guy who has always been healthy coming off two surgeries into a shortened season where they are still rebuilding up in NY. He could be re-injured, it could be a nagging problem, he could let it get to his head a-la T-Mac, the team could consider this potential asterisk season not worth the risk, or he could be fine. Who knows?
