Some examples of Chris Wallace's talent evaluation include:

Drafting Hasheem Thabeet at #2 ahead of Harden, Curry, DeRozan.

Trading away Kevin Love for OJ Mayo on draft night.

Signing Chandler Parsons to a max contract.

Trading the farm for 1 season of Jeff Green.

Sitting but not trading Tyreke Evans while he was averaging 20/5/5 on a team that was tanking.

    But also:

He drafted Thabeet at #2,now he gets to do it again with Mobley at #2.

Bad move Rafa but I guess he was cheap.
And adding Matt Bullard? Add Bill Worrell too

lol. Let's hope that as director of scouting he is just good at giving Stone intel but is not allowed to make executive decisions.

Very interesting. Stone seems to have some say with the ownership. The hiring of Wallace and the return of our Bullard in the front office can prove to be valuable, since it's apparent that they will have input in decision making.

Grit and grind might be key to the draft. Stone
seems to be taking this draft seriously. If TF and PF etc don't get in the way, we might end up with some really good players. The next step will be developing the youngsters. Who will help Silas out in doing that?

My gut feeling is Stone will make the final call unless TF / PF get into his way. He has a close relationship with assistant manager Eli too.

Let's not forget he also traded for 300 lb Vin Baker to Boston (turrble)

(and then Van Gundy looked at that and said -- I also want a piece of that)

The Thabeet draft pick is one of the most unforgivable picks in NBA, or even sports, history.

I'm happy that Stone is hiring basketball guys and not just analytic nerds. We've needed a balance of the two and it seems Stone values both equally.

Look at it this way, Wallace learned a ton of lessons in his GM time, some good and some obviously terrible. He's one voice.

I feel the chances of failing in this draft at number 2 is obviously low unless the Rockets reach out to Kuminga or Barnes.

The Rockets have already tried out Mann and JT Thor and will be trying out Cooper too. There is a focus on good upside. Fortunately, there are no Thabeet types in this draft.

Even potential busts like Ziarie Williams and Greg Brown are talented.

I had not heard that name in a very very very long time. I think I'm going to be sick. @Nook any chance you can make us feel a little better?
