well today's gallup poll has him 6 pts lead and this poll was taken before day 3 of the convention. bill's speech was a homerun and he actually outlined why obama would be a good president than previous speeches so i expect that to give obama a bounce. then you compound that with obama's speech in front of 80,000 people and most people know he'll give a good speech. 10+ pt bounce is not surprising.
Now, wait a minute. Scintillating mental flash. Perhaps he is talking about how he likes his steak. This could either intend to bond with southern voters, who typically like their beef more thoroughly cooked than northern voters, or perhaps Obama has secretly invited McCain over to a BBQ, at which he will serve steaks. This is getting interesting.
i can't tell you how many people stop me on the street every day asking if i know where "BBQ" is. BBQ, aka Dallas BBQ, aka Dallas Jones BBQ, aka, back in the day, The Swiss Chalet...yes, way.
True. It is bs. Nothing about the McCain campaign has been classy. Maybe some polling showed they were being seen as without class.
So you openly admit McCain wasn't being genuine with the ad and it's all about scoring political points instead of truly taking stock in an historic moment in American history that should be appreciated by all. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
You know, that actually did happen to Clinton during a State of the Union address in the mid-90's. They had the wrong speech loaded into the teleprompter. It took them about 10 minutes to fix it, but he managed to wing it on his own til then. Something tells me Obama wouldn't fare as well in the same scenario. As for the McCain ad, it's a classy move.......AND shrewd politics. It is possible to do both at the same time.
#1: Soundbites from your own party. #2: Didn't see McCain approving this message, either. No offense, but it would take Basso's cut and pastes with an editor to make that.
Agreed. If McCain's VP is announced or "leaked" tonight, it would take away all good will this message was meant to portray. I'll assume we will know by noon tomorrow.
I think I can vouch for this. The Bats I know probably wouldn't post a whole lot about it, but I believe that he would be disappointed if a candidate he supported did such a thing. Bats and I disagree on a lot, but he does expect his candidate to live up to certain standards.
Lucky us. These are both decent, competent people who will serve our country well for the next eight years in one capacity or another.
You loser. It didn't leak because they decided it was a bad idea to do it. There were multiple stories saying they were planning on/considering it and even the stories you've read said they changed their minds. Don't act like I cooked it up. And definitely don't act superior. You absolutely aren't. Not to mention your candidate is about to lose. Why don't you take the bet? You vs. me. The loser doesn't post here for a year. I'd much rather you took it that our Kowardly Konkistadork. He's at least funny in his pathetic way. You just suck all around. TTB?
Cute use of "preemptive" btw. When I have "preemptive outrage" thousands of Americans don't die for a stupid, horrible mistake. You shouldn't even be allowed to use that word anymore. Also, TTB.
Also, from all accounts, the choice not to leak the running mate seems to have coincided with the publication of Obama's speech. (This is not a guess re: the timing, btw. The timing is pretty much exact. They went from leaking the idea of leaking to leaking that they weren't going to leak pretty much exactly when the speech text got out.) No surprise there. Hours later, after he delivered it, they still didn't know what to say. Can you imagine trying to compete with that speech by announcing Romney, Pawlenty, Lieberman, Ridge, Whitman, Hutchison, Palin, Kasich, Portman, Thune, Rice (LOL - I just threw that in for your crazy ass) or anyone else? Yeah, me neither. Also, TTB.
"leaking the idea of leaking to leaking that they weren't going to leak" did you actually type that with a straight face? please, McCain, unlike his bitter opponent, showed a lot of class tonight.
Drudge is a Republican, not a Democrat. Blame him, not me. So you're too scared to take the bet? Cool. I don't blame you. But I will bring it up every time you post. You coward.
Hmmm. Hum this to the tune of "Iron Man" I AM ANGRY BAT DO NOT TALK TO ME WHILE I'VE LABATT'S YOUR OPINION IRRITATES ME DO NOT TALK TO ME WHILE I'M DRINKING IF YOU TALK TO ME I WILL BEAT YOU DOWN SO EASILY I AM ANGRY BAT I WILL ACT LIKE YOU ARE A F$%#ING GNAT sleep, brother... sleeeeep.
