He was last year's Great Not-Harden Hope. I think that Davis is the current frontrunner for the GNHH for the season.
He has a shot at it. I figured there was no way because voters would penalize him for having Russ playing alongside him. But if he keeps up this level of scoring and the Rockets keep up this level of winning(they're on pace to win 59-60 games at the moment), he's gotta be a top contender.
Have you seen the numbers Giannis is putting up? 30/14/7 in just 33 minutes a game. MVP leader boards are dumb at this stage of the season, but if I had to project forward he's the most likely to win it. Anthony Davis may not even be the best player on his own team. Don't see how he can win it.
This is the correct answer. This is the correct answer on MVP, scoring titles, triple doubles, swag champs, pregame red carpet... it doesn't matter. it really really doesn't matter.
MVP is something you usually make a case for over the course of the entire season. So it does matter how well you play in October/November. EDIT: Here's the video.
It’s like making a declaration after game 1 of the NBA Finals that a player is the Finals MVP so far. That’s meaningless. What’s the point? I suppose one can debate who’s been the MVP of the early NBA season. I just don’t think it makes sense to frame it as an MVP argument for the regular season.
Y’all ever notice how 2k doesn’t show MVP candidates until like 2 months into the season...? We have played 11 games, there is no MVP race right now!
