outstanding movie. i saw it last night.

to me the conversation with the architect was one of the absolute best parts of the movie. it was a moment of clarity and confusion all at the same time, what with all of the information that was disseminated.

if you haven't seen it, i won't disclose too much info. but i will tell you this: it's the kind of movie you absolutely have to see more than once in order to catch everything. looooooooots of information!

I can't believe I wasted my time watching that movie. Wasn't horrible...but wasn't close to good, either. I knew better but caved to peer pressure.

It could (probably will) break all box office opening records. They said it already has the greatest opening day ever at 42.5 million.

Technically, Spider-Man Still Holds Record for Opening Day

Dow Jones Business News has more on the box office for "The Matrix Reloaded", which Warner Bros. said earned $42.5 million on Thursday (which is actually Wednesday night and Thursday night combined)...

The opening day of "The Matrix Reloaded" generated an estimated $37.5 million in ticket sales, making it the second-highest opening box-office gross for a movie after last year's "Spider-Man," according to the movie's distributor, Warner Bros.

"Spider-Man" sold $39.4 million in tickets on its first day, but the PG-13 movie opened on a Friday, which customarily is a bigger theater day than Thursday. In addition, "Reloaded" carried an R-rating, curbing the size of the audience available to see it.

Comparing box-office results for "Reloaded" is further complicated because the movie first opened at 10 p.m. in selected theaters Wednesday before the movie's "official" debut on a record 8,517 screens Thursday. Warner Bros. estimates " Reloaded" sold about $5 million in tickets Wednesday night.

Matrix Reloaded' sets 7-day record

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- AOL Time Warner's sequel "The Matrix Reloaded" racked up box office records in its first full week of release.

The film, distributed by AOL unit Warner Bros. (AOL: news, chart, profile), reaped $157.6 million in its first seven days of U.S. release, marking a record for the biggest opening week in history. It topped the $151.6 million recorded by the previous record holder "Spider-Man" in its first seven days.

"The Matrix Reloaded" has achieved box office sales of $158.2 million.

In another distinction, "Reloaded" also represented the swiftest ascent to $150 million in film history, hitting the threshold on its sixth day of release while continuing to build momentum.

"We are extremely proud of the success of `The Matrix Reloaded,'" said Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution of Warner Bros. Pictures, in a statement.

"It is vastly gratifying when a film that we believe in so strongly is received by audiences with such unparalleled enthusiasm," he added.

Warner Bros. will release "The Matrix Revolutions," the third installment in the trilogy on Nov. 5.
