Why is it so hard for some of you to believe that one person can be in love with another to the point where no one else will satisfy?

Sounds like there are many people who "settled" in who they marry. I used to see that all the time with these guys I played softball with - they were married but lusting after teenage girls all the time and voicing those desires out loud. I guess I am not only naive but lucky as well as I married well above my class.

EDIT - I will say that I still see nice looking women all the time whether it is at work or even when I am out with my wife. But it is like moe said - you might lust in your mind but you can't act on those urges. So, yea, there are many other nice-looking women out there starting with Naomi Watts but I'm content with the one I have. :)

This thread helps explain why I've never been married.

As some other posters have mentioned I don't think we can generalize what works for some people and what works for others. For me I don't believe love and sex are the same thing but many people can't separate those.

Forget the sex, the extra "benefits" i want are the woman cooking and cleaning at all times.

Sad that these are considered extra benefitst these days. Just sad.

Are you a 50 year old black woman sitting in the audience of the Montell Williams show?

I couldn't do the "extra" benefits, but that's just me...To me a marriage is a committment to one another...

However, what if you still need to fulfill a fantasy, like a three-some or something...If the "one" isn't into that, and she gives you a free pass to do it without her, is that cheating?

I bet you'll change your mind once you go to kiss your wife a few times and taste another guys baby batter. Enjoy!

No way this happens in my marriage.

I'm sure that shotguning a load with your wife will only make it that much more special.

Obviously I'm being facetious here, but in all reality, I don't think I would have a problem with an arrangement that led to a more "open" marriage. There was an article in, I believe, Esquire magazine a few months ago that profiled multiple couples that were making non-traditional marriages work. I'm not really sure what type of ground rules there would be though.

I have been in plenty of open relationships before (girlfriends, friends with benefits, and ***** buddies), so I wouldn't be surprised if I kissed one of them the night after they were fooling around with another guy.

    .

I'm guessing I will probably change my thoughts if I find that "special someone", but I don't think I will get married until I am like 40 anyway, so it's a moot point for now. :D
