    His sister was my social studies teacher at Lanier. She spoke of him very highly.

    I took Texas History from his sister, Mrs. Fortinberry in Kingwood Middle School in the early 90s, she mentioned her brother in her lessons and remains one of my all time favorite teachers. Same sister?

    RIP. He showed a lot of political courage and paid the price for it. Also another proud graduate of Lamar High in Houston.
