Sorry, don't have a link. Heard this on NPR on the way to work. Sellers must soon get their edibles tested for safety. Any edible must be tested for E Coli, Salmonella, etc AND ... AND "potency." Some people are wondering if Colorado is monitoring quality of mar1juana and doing labeling. Turns out it's going to soon be required.

ALSO. this is another revenue stream created by legalization.
The Chemical Testing Labs in Colorado are expanding to support required testing. I didn't think of this. Illegal mar1juana obviously gets no testing.

Anyone know if this is required in CA. It's tough to search for because mar1juana Lab Testing mainly gets hits for human testing.

The best kitchens alreadydid.. but now that its legal for anyone this is great. Prevents half ass ppl looking to capitalize from selling **** product

Whether its required or not in CA isnt irrelevant but the best products and places test all product.. they wont need to enact something like this until they legalize for recreational

Its up to the buyers discretion to care about it or not, but the highest quality stuff is tested if you care about that sort of thing. Just gotta do your due diligence

Sounds reasonable. We require safety standards for other foods, so it makes sense to have the same safety requirements for edibles. Plus, including some measure of potency is definitely a good thing. Noobies tend to eat an edible, and then eat more later on when they aren't feeling the effects (which can take considerably longer than smoking to take affect). I once knew a noobie who ate a brownie and didn't feel it immediately, so he kept eating more. A couple of hours later, he's passed out, and the next day he wakes up feeling high and stayed high throughout the day. Hilarious to the non-noobies, but not so funny for him!

i do not think it is required.

in the first result in link above, if you filter dispensaries in Southern California, you go from 757 total to 385 that are lab tested
