The Alvarez and Verlander trade made up for any bad decision Lunhow has ever made. JD Martinez is good, but he really only had 3 season of great baseball before he bolted for more money than we would have ever paid him. But then again, he could have been the difference in 2015.
Yea. Hader here now would be awesome to say the least. But does 2017 work out without Mike Fiers eating the innings he did in 2017 when injuries bit?
Still pissed off about Eddie Taubensee for Kenny Lofton eta: and that ridiculous ****ing trade with the Padres
That’s just a mind boggling amount of talent that the Astros have drafted and developed. There’s like 50 guys there that will make the show and most of them for more than a minute or so. But yeah, no real guys you’d feel like were devastating losses.
I remember Morgan when he was traded to the Big Red Machine. I was a young boy and thought it was a bad trade at the time. But, hey I watched a lot of baseball as a kid watching and hating the Reds.
Same here. Joe Morgan was my favorite Astros, at the time of the trade. I became a Big Red Machine fan because of Morgan; they were a fun team to watch. Second worst Houston sports trade of history. First ... Big E. Third ... not a trade but ... letting Nolan Ryan sign with the Rangers.
August 9, 2011...JD went 2-4 with a HR...his 4th homer in his first 10 games with the Astros. I posted, "JD Martinez is my homeboy." on my Facebook...an ever-so-clever take on the "Jesus is my homeboy" that was so popular at the time. That post shows up in my Facebook memories every year. It never fails to make me sigh and pout.
