Hi everyone, I don't post a ton of serious stuff, most of it is an act on these parts. But time for something very close to our hearts for my wife and I. We were on our IVF journey at 22 weeks, and she went into early labor with a handful of complications on early Monday morning of this week. We got to be a first time Mommy and Daddy for about two hours and then our son passed away peacefully. We are heartbroken. He was going to be our first child and we were so excited. Preeclampsia and cervical insufficiency (no one knew we'd have these things) were too much to overcome. Damn, I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine it. I hope the hospital notified you of services to help you, your wife, and others get through this. I'm sure those hours you had with your son gave you some great memories. You'll always have those. I threw a bit your way. Looks like you're almost at the goal already. You and your wife must be great people.

No offense taken Buck. We really would one day like to try again at some point with IVF. I've gotten into it a bit here in a few posts about my battles with depression over the years before being stable on meds now. And meds are great for me, but sexual side effects they do come with. That's why we were really hoping our first try with IVF would be successful. Because it's hard finding the sex drive to hit all of those damn ovulation days, etc. It just doesn't happen. Long story short, I hope IVF will treat us more kindly next time around because it's been our dream to have a family of our own for years now. We had that dream snatched away too soon from us.
