as contagious as polio. Losing is a disease as contagious as syphilis Attacking one, but infecting all. Odd, but curable. I want you to picture yourself on a ship at sea...gently rocking gently rocking gently rocking
Time to get Biggio and Bagwell in there to explain to these guys that it's no fun to play your whole career and end up with no WS ring. Impress upon them that this year may be their best chance ever of getting a ring, and play to their potential in trying to achieve that goal. The youngest players, like Martes for example, probably have little sense of what a WS victory would mean for all the players, coaches, and fans who have stuck with the team through the years of Wynn, Cruz, the Killer B's, and the rebuilding era. They seem to underestimate their own ability and (potential) historical significance. Someone with more perspective and stature in the baseball world needs to tell them how it is.
That's funny! The fictional team from "The Natural" is how we explain this team's poor play. The similarities are striking. There's no other explanation. One of the players' ladies is a ballbuster who is out to ruin the player and the team. The team is going to have to find a way to extricate her from the situation. She's infested losing into this team. Is it Correa's girlfriend? Players seem distracted ever since chron.com revealed the news for all to see. Has Barbara Hershey been in Houston recently?
I'm just gonna blame it on the beards. Harden and the Astros should all just shave them off and maybe we will win a Championship, and look good doing it.
Oh he said if a number of times... used to talk about setting out salt licks to attract slump busters.
Bigg/Bag didn't win, and the FO made no urgent moves. Can't say either would help, but neither probably hurts. Doing that was harsh and mean. Sorry it happened..
I appreciate the effort so many of you put into this thread. Clearly it got us a W!!!! Keep up the excellent work.
The game against Greinke is one loss I didn't panic on... especially with the strong performance from McHugh... I have a bad feeling that the division race will be closer than it should be...
