Can't wait to see the answers to my question, fast forward to 2026. How (or even can we?) Keep and sign green, sengun, tari Eason, jabari, cam whitmore., amen, kpj, vanvleet(will still be under contract) , brooks(still under contract),

Okay. Let's hear it, keep in mind the owner will NOT pay the lux tax no matter what.

So how are we going to pull this off without losing a player of significance?

Point of my thread which I'm sure no one will pick up on, is that I believe both vanvleet and brooks signings will come back to haunt us. But....carry on

We aren't at most we keep 3 or 4....the rest will be flipped, it is rare that you would keep all 7 of our core.

    1. Jalen
    2. Jabari
    3. Sengun
    4. KPJ
    5. Eason
    6. Amen

FVV 3rd year is a TO is it not? Very doubtful we pick that up.

Not every one of them is going to hit for a start, so that's cheaper. Then factor in that even if all of them did hit, not all of them have a max player ceiling either, cheaper again. Then not all of them will fit with each other, so of the ones that do hit and do have a max ceiling, we pay the ones that fit in a way we can build around. This is literally the best position we could be in with the way the chips have fallen. By my reckoning at least 1(preferably 2) of our core 7 youngsters should reach all star level, and I'd hazard we get at least 2 other starter/super roleplayer level players in there too. If we actually got 2 all stars and 2 strong rotational pieces that fit well together that's a success, the rest will move to different situations to bring in role players who fit the core better.

People are way overestimating how many prospects actually succeed. If we get 2 max-worthy players out of this group it would be a huge success. If the Rockets are ever at a point wondering how to pay 3+ all-stars then you'd be spending more time wondering when they will win a title rather than how they're going to be paid.

As long as Stone doesn’t hold onto players too long like he did with KJ, this is a good problem to have.

FVV and KPJ will be gone.

Cap will have EXPLODED as it is due for a big spike.

If you legitimately have 6 guys worth max deals, you are winning.

That’s an odd question. We’ll keep the best ones that work together and dump the lesser ones. Is that really confusing?

Starting as early as this upcoming mid season trading deadline, we will start trimming the fat.

Other teams are giving away big contracts in anticipation of league changes....meanwhile
in Houston, our Heros are claiming that it will
be easy to push a VanVleet contract or Dillon Brooks deal. Same Dillon Brooks that had a PER
    of 9.

When Gold turns to Kryptonite and nobody wants it. Our Heros have history with that: Eric Gordon, Westbrook, John Wall, CP3 (had to beg a team to take him), Ryan Anderson.

And so our story continues with VanVleet (5'11" guy that has no vertical that has no business
driving among the trees and sports a poor FG% as a result....and loves to leave his feet (leap)
to pass; which is a cardinal sin amongst point guards)

    and

Dillon Brooks (a knucklehead with a poor FG%)

Until some of the young players avidly start performing well, there's no reason to talk about them as if they are stars

We still do not know which player will be superstar status and lead the team to a winning record.
