I have seen that many of our members play in local bands. I thought it would be cool if everyone who does play locally (Houston) would contribute their info:

    Name of Group:

    Instrument played:

    Next major gig:

As many people as we have here, we should network much, much more.

    :)

Our singer had been discontent for a while. He's been with the band since it began in '96. He's wanted out for a while and this was just his opportunty to leave.

The drummer just doesn't have a passion for the music anymore.

We've had label interest from Elektra, Reprise, and Verve but the offer is from an indie ska label called Megalith Records. If you know anything about ska, the Megalith roster includes artists like The Toasters, New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Victor Rice, King Django, and the Bluebeats.

They didn't want to redistribute our most recent CD so we've been writing stuff for the new one. But when we've retooled and we have new material then our next album is paid for.

We just bought a 16 channel Yamaha last year that we dig. I forget the actual model number. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that stuff (I'm just a horn player). Jeff could probably lay some wisdom on ya about it.

Bands: formerly Chapter Two, currently nameless. One other band just getting started with me, two former members of Skillit and two former members of the Joint Chiefs. No name for that one yet.

Instrument: Bass Guitar (occassionally, I'll play acoustic guitar for acoustic gigs)

Next Gig: With the second band, March 12 at the Ryhthm Room.
The former Chapter Two will do an acoustic gig in February at the Next Door Coffee House, just not sure of the date yet. That band is in reoganization mode after a bunch of crazy crapola. :)
