Uhmmm, the Koreas having a united Olympic Team is a great symbol. It would do the entire world a bunch of good if those 2 regimes could start to get along, maybe even talk?

Why would the US (as a State, because that's Pence's job there) make a dismissive gesture while everyone else is trying to be conciliatory and possibly open some dialog?

Having the South and North come together even if for a sporting event (this is what happened, read some of the ROK media coverage) is a good thing.

It's very strange that the same folks who have almost no problems at all with the Russians trying to sabotage our democratic elections find it horrific that anyone would criticize Pence for not being statesman-like at the Olympics.

Neither of us actually know. What I do know is that I believe the North Korean govt. is probably the most oppressive and restrictive in the world. I am in favor of all the sanctions against them and more.

Of course, none of that has anything to do with the Olympics. I'm not sure why the poor deceased young man would want to tarnish the Olympics rather than actually take meaningful action in dealing with N. Korea.

But if you prefer clumsy misguided irrelevant show of stances rather than substantial meaningful stances in the actual political arena, then that is up to you.
