I know everyone is focused on the various controversial policies from the Trump Administration thus far but for me the level of leaks coming out of the Trump Administration are truly incredible.

Every draft EO is getting leaked and I'm convinced that the Trump Administration had to chaotically implement the immigration ban because that too would have leaked if they circulated it in the White House for review. There must be leakers in every department at this point.

Even the conversation with the Australian PM got out (which the Aussies might be responsible for leaking) but either way this is unprecedented. The Bush administration got pretty bad about leaks toward the end but it was never this bad. Obama ran a pretty disciplined operation so very little ever got out.

I don't even know how Trump can legislate at this point. Everything will make it to the media first and the administration will be on the defensive at all times. Congress probably can't even share anything with him because that will get leaked as well. Hell if you read the @roguepotusstaff twitter, there's even more insanity being put out (they called the SC nomination hours before Trump did).

I'm curious how Trump's folks will address this. They're all turning on each other and backstabbing so its a matter of time before it gets even uglier and personal. Also the leaks about Bannon are probably the most terrifying things I've ever heard from a White House.

Maybe go full Obama and prosecute leakers and whistleblowers to the fullest extent of the law?

It's too bad partisan politics hinders opposing overreach of our political branches because the lesson we have here is that the pendulum shifts and the increase of powers tilts us increasingly towards Turnkey Authoritarianism with every successive term.

As for the topic, more leaks presumably means more transparency.

Since these leakers aren't Russian influenced, maybe we hang them when we find them?

The leaks are a product of holdover Obaman staffers, right? As the new cabinet is confirmed and they are able to hire their own leadership and get control of their agencies, I imagine the leakage will go down.

No problem, Trump and Bannon will just handle everything by themselves.

I'm beginning to understand how you have 100K + posts. You just say the same comment over and over and over and over and over again. No substance, just ranting.

I've never seen someone so impressed with their own ego...not even the President you hate so much has 100K in tweets.

Dakota has become delirious, angry and hateful after the election. He needs to compose himself and regain control.

I normally don't answer questions from trolls, but I'll humor you.

I didn't like Trump's immigration and trade policies.

Neither do I.. Why couldn't your party have rallied around Kaisch. My party may be responsible for Hillary (whom I liked, but many did not and ultimatley cost her the election vs the other Dem candidates being a very-liberal 'socialist' Sanders and a very unpopular O'Malley), but your party made Trump over like 15 other candidates.

Rand Paul would have been a good choice.

Trump and his team has alienated enough civil servants that we may see continued leaks. But a more deliberate process by the Trump team, which includes controlled leaks, and a better internal vetting process would get around these current problems.

But we must not under estimate what effect having a self avowed anti-statist and white supremacist in Bannon having much influence in the Whitehouse means for policy creation and controlling leaks. This is likely a tenuous relationship between Bannon/Trump and the GOP. And tenuous relationships historically make for leaky pipes.

Not just the GOP, those in his administration. I am pretty sure MadDog Mattis was not happy that he was used as photo-op for the signing of that ban on Muslim immigrants (and I'm pretty sure he didn't know exactly what was the EO until later). Trump knew exactly what he was doing - using Mattis to give more credibility to the EO. This is the kind of stuff that get people pissed.

If you listen Mattis talk he sound quite reasonable. I don't know how he can work for Trump.
