look, I know growing up a Rockets fans makes one despise the Jazz, but that era is over to me.

even though we lost in 97, 98, 07, and 08, there is nothing left from that era except a schitty owner and a schitty fanbase.

the Lakers beat us last. in '09. with Kobe and Gasol. to win the title.

that's the bitter taste that is left for me.

I will root for the puppy dog Jazz to get the 8th seed and for the All NBA Future Hall of Fame team to go down in flames.

and I want the Rockets to eliminate them.

    some stats I have compiled

    This.

We're years removed from the Evil Empire of Sloan/Malone/Stockton/Hornacek running things in Utah.

I say you rest your starters no reason to risk injury if we're already set at
    6th or 7th place.

The thing about Lakers vs. Jazz for me is I didn't like the players of the Jazz (Malone era)where as I just plain hate the whole Lakers organization and the city. And I'm growing to dislike the state as well, but that's another story.

So yes, hammer the Lakers out of the playoffs so they can't say even a word to defend themselves.

It depends on the conference standings by then. If the outcome of the game doesn't change the Rockets' standing (#6 or #7), then we should rest all of our starters. If the Rockets can make it to #6 (and it's beneficial for them to be in the 6th depending on who's at 3rd), then we play it to win it. The focus should be putting the Rockets in a position where there's a higher chance to make it through the first round. It doesn't matter which team is the 8th.

If it comes down to the last game, Rockets need to put them out of their misery. Relieve of their pain and do it for a noble cause.

    MERCY KILLING.

it really depends on whether we need to win to avoid the thunder, or lose to play the spurs.

I think we should play to win each and every game. I want the Rockets to have a winner's mentality, not a conniving and manipulating one.

    This.

No Lakers in the playoffs increases the chance of Dwight signing elsewhere in free agency.

hard to hate an irrelevant team like Utah anymore

A chance to knock out the Lakers on their own home court, on national TV, and the meltdown/panic bloodletting that would ensue. Would be wonderful theater. Not to mention the chance to take advantage of their disarray in the offseason.

To me it's more about if we can get the 6th seed. I feel like we can beat Denver.

Play Brooks, he'll drop 40 on the Lakers.

I can't stand the Lakers as an organization from top to bottom (except for Nash). Knocking them out of the play offs in the last game of the season would be as sweet for me as a play off game win.

    Exactly how I feel.

I kinda want the Lakers to get in because if they play the Spurs that would be a very fun series.

But then again I want the Lakers to lose because it increases the chance that Dwight may go.

Knock the Lakers out of the playoffs by playing our bench.

I totally agree with you on this. If the Rockets want to be champions they should face adversity and overcome it not dodge it.
