After that Blazer series, I will always be weary of discounting this dude. Only 1 game fellas. If he sucks in game 2, we might be onto something.
He's better than Dwight. I wanted us to trade Dwight for him when there were rumors the Blazers were shopping him.
DAMN this dude is soft in the head. He's the most hated player in San Antonio right now. LMA = LaMarcus Missing in Action is what they are calling him. Time for Spurs to start over by trading LMA in the off season to the Knicks. The current team does not have enough offense with LMA to get past the Rockets and Warriors
But I will say this tho, we did a damn good job on LMA. Double teaming him every possession. But it's only 1 game. Let's see how game 2 plays out.
Three years ago, Dwight still had the "superstar" vibe. And LMA was perceived to be second tier star. I thought most people would think it a fair trade. And LMA would be a better fit with us than Dwight ever did.
Maybe its just me, but Aldridge has looked heavier ever since he was wined and dined during that free agency summer of 2015. Initially I thought it was just the Spurs grey uniforms, but watching him vs the grizz and Rockets, he seem to move so much slower.
There was also an air of that Dwight and LMA could play together, hence why any trade involving both wouldn't work. I mean, if Dwight was willing to be somewhere between Clint and Deandre Jordan the team could have seen way more success.
If Clint could ever get to Dwight's size physically... oh man. Just imagine if Dwight had played the role of mix Capela and Nene instead of being the OG of all cry babies?
Should've signed with Houston. Any player that disses the rockets ends up ... well you know the rest.
I don't think we had enough assets to trade for LMA without giving up either Howard or Harden. There was also a possibility that he would not resign with us. So we chose to wait for his UFA but he decided to go to SA.
If Portland had a down season that year, it might have changed things. Asik for Aldridge could have been a swingable trade. But you're right in that we didn't have anything to offer, and with the possibility of him being what Howard was to the Lakers the price was way to high.
Is he maybe upset that the Spurs ended up being Kawhi's team? I seem to recall that one of the reasons he left Portland was because he was tired of playing second fiddle...
Just a theory, could it be mental with his heart problem? Injuries do mess up with some athletes' mind, what more with irregular heart. He could be playing it "safe".
