Usually the first roaster up gets sidetracked and forgotten but I do agree Kroll was pretty damn funny. He went at Seth Rogen pretty hard.

Hader was awesome. Usually doing gimmick stuff like dressing up/using props doesn't go over well in roasts, but Hader pulled it off.

If I had to rank a Top 5 from last night, I'd probably have it...

    1. Jeff Ross
    2. Andy Samburg
    3. Natasha Leggerro
    4. Bill Hader
    5. Jonah Hill/Nick Kroll

andy samburg had me laughing so hard i couldnt breathe. i think that might be the funniest thing i have ever seen from these comedy central roasts. bill hader was great too.

jeff ross was funny, but that was below his standards.

Agreed about Ross. Way weaker than a lot of his previous roasts.

I thought samberg was just ok. The joke got old to me after the first couple.

I about lost it when Samberg said, "Aziz's parents are from India and he's from South Carolina. 'Hey Aziz! What's it like to have a unique perspective on what it means to be an American, you bag of ****!'".

I think Hader and Samburg were my favorites. Ross is always good but I don't think he was at his best yesterday.

Yeah not enough Hader mention early in this thread. I thought he did very well. He always strikes me as corny and awkward when he's being himself though. He completely transforms when he's doing a character.

Natasha, as well, so hot and yet so cold. Just the way I like them

On a sidenote was Franco stoned out of his mind or does he always look like that? The way he was talking, laughing and delayed reactions to everything made Cheech and Chong seem normal.

Also, it seems like everyone forgot to brush their teeth or maybe they were serving YooHoo as part of the refreshments before the set.

Copied this from a FB poster on Grantlands article about the roast

    My sentiments exactly re. Franco

James Franco roast was hilarious ... for the most part.
Sarah Silverman is the only one who had weak jokes IMO.

On a related note - This Is The End is back in theaters.
Saw it again tonight. Still funny!

First off why are they roasting this guy to begin with?
Were they bored and didn't have anything else to do?

Jeff Ross was the best, but definitely below his standards.

Andy Samburg? Was that suppose to be funny? I've watched roasts all the way back to the 60's and that had to be THE worst performance/roast I've ever seen.

60s?? Clearly you don't know your history or there is some other roast in another country us Americans don't know about, because The Dean Martin roast was during the 70s mister fancy pants.

Samburg paying homage to Andy Kaufman, ala Norm McD was epic.

I could not stop laughing, and my sense of humor is better than any of these nobodies posting in this thread acting like someone might give a ****.

    "Us Americans don't know about"?

So you're speaking for ALL Americans now?
I don't think the rest of this country is going to be standing by you on this one as you're showing either your ignorance or age here.

The Friars started roasting people back in the late 40's.
NBC also started airing these roasts on their show "Kraft music Hall program" in the late 60's".

So clearly YOU don't know your history.
