Can somebody verify this with a source? I'm watching the game but I've only got the Clipper's commentators on my league pass. This is a game changer if true.

Ehh not too surprising if true.

3/11 - Reported he would be out 2-4 weeks.
    3/25 - 2 weeks since reported(17 games left)
    4/8 - 4 weeks since reported 11(or 10) games left

Who says the make the playoffs?!

And maybe he would come back for the playoffs if they were to make it.

But I mean, if he's out, he's out. Not much you can do. Next man up.

If you say out for the season, it means there's no chance he's going to play this season anymore! Worrell should hold his tongue and watch his words carefully.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is done for the year. Have the Rockets even said what kind of infection he has?

My dad had a bacterial infection in his back recently. They had to give him antibiotics through IV. He was down for 8 weeks.

What kind of infection did he get and where/how did he get it?

At the end of the day, he just needs to get healthy, and forget basketball until he is 100%.

But that is pretty scary, it would be interesting to know if it was Salmanela, or something like that.

I mean what type of infection requires 4 weeks of antibiotics and no physical activity?

Maybe we can back into the diagnosis, anyone? Buehler, anyone?

I had something similar to this a few years ago. The doctor described it as if you had a battle with the flu and the aftermath was like the World Trade Center, and now that the Trade Center has fallen down but there is still all the rubble. You just need the antibiotics to clear out the infection or its never going away if not continue to get worse.

I remember not being able to do anything physical for at least a month because of this too. He said it could have an affect on my recovery. It sounds like, from what I can read, Lowrys infection was similar to the one I had. He just needs to take his meds and finish the treatment, but he's going to be very weak and out of shape when he gets off.

I think its best to assume that even when he gets done with treatment he still will be two weeks away from 100%. By then its the playoffs anyways, and you are most likely going to keep Dragic as your starting point guard. I wouldn't be surprised if Lowry doesn't start another game at least until the playoffs. IF the Rockets make the playoffs of course.

Bacterial Infections suck. I know what he's going through. These aren't extremely serious but if you dont treat it properly it will NEVER go away. I battled with mine for a good 3 months. Lets hope Lowry has better luck then I had.
