So Kobe dont pad him on the back like he does with Irving/Tmac/Tatum knowing they no match for him but attacks Harden because he knows he can make a case against him. Sweet

That's not true. Kobe loves harden. He said he'd pick harden if he had to start a franchise. He's just being truthful. James would burn out if he had to play this was the remaining 29 games+playoffs

 

All ESPN said was Kobe says “harden can’t win championships playing like this” and they left out the rest of Kobe’s comment

N 5wo also in the quote he acknowledged that for now he has to keep his team above water so he understands the take over..also a duh. 3 like really it was just a dumb question to ask. Like not one person in the world think u can win a championship like this even harden but that shouldnt have been the question cause that's not what he's doing. He's playing hero ball to keep his team afloat n to get them to the playoffs when his team is healthy. So people dont get on kobe cause everything he said is trust n obvious. Kobe is absolutely right. And to answer OP's question about why Jordan could do it or Kobe could do it, playing the same styles: they had way better supporting casts around them.

CP3 is not Pippen and CP3 is not Shaq/Gasol.

 

I kind of get it, though. In the playoffs, the Rockets won't win because Harden won his battle facing double and triple teams consistently. The Rockets only win a championship if the other four guys on the court take advantage of what should consistently be a compromised defense. Have a quick trigger and hit your open shots. Break down one guy and find the guy for an open lay-up. Our offense goes from great to mediocre when Harden passes out of double teams and a player hesitates on the shot. The defense resets and Harden ends up getting the ball again with a couple seconds left on the shot clock.

Kobe even says at the very end, Harden is so good that people are trying to diminish it and that's how you know it really is special.

 

While what Kobe said was true, and everyone should understand it.. it kind of seems really unfair to criticize and bring it up during an interview. Especially when you acknowledge that what James is doing is coming from a place out of necessity and not willingness.

It's like telling a person with no college education and works full-time at a clothing store while doing Uber/Lyft on the side that they will never be able to live comfortably and raise a family of 4 like that. Well, yeah. Do you want me to be homeless though? I'm doing what I got to do in order to survive.

James Harden is doing what he needs to do in order to make the playoffs. Would casuals rather have James Harden average 28-5-5 and be 6 games under .500 or him average 36-8-5 and be 9 games above .500? Just seems dumb to bring up that the Rockets won't win a championship this way. We know. Daryl knows. James knows. Mike knows. Everyone in this organization knows.

Instead admire that Harden has been able to step up to the plate as a leader and a player without having to downplay it.
