I agree. People are going ape over a 2-piece with a couple of strips of bacon and cheese. I'm willing to bet that thing has about the same fat content as your average burger (although that's not saying much) or maybe even less. It's like a chicken sandwich at Wendy's or Chick-fil-a without the buns and twice the chicken. Anybody have nutritional info on it?

    UPDATE 8/25:

Rick Maynard with KFC public relations contacted us to say KFC estimates the numbers from The Vancouver Sun are inaccurate. According to their estimates, although they have not done an official workup the Double Down contains the following nutritional information:

    Calories: 590
    Calories from fat: 280
    Total fat: 31g
    Saturated fat: 10g
    Trans fat: 0g
    Cholesterol: 190mg

    [/rquoter]

That is equal to a Big Mac in total calories and less than a Whopper. And the calories from fat in both instances are significantly higher than the KFC.

That is a hell of a lot lower than I would have expected. Perhaps the sandwich isn't as big as people are thinking.

For Comparison here is the Nutritional Info on a Chipotle Chicken Burrito without Guacamole.

    Calories 1035
    Cal from Fat 365
    Total Fat 40g 61%
    Saturated Fat 18g 88%
    Trans Fat 0g
    Cholesterol 190mg 63%
    Sodium 2140mg 89%
    Total Carbs 107g 36%
    Dietary Fiber 15g 60%
    Sugars 9g
    Protein 61g

If it's small enough size-wise, I could see people ordering more than one.

Hmm. Thanks Ottomaton. I had a feeling it wouldn't be as bad as people were making it out to be, but admittedly, that's a bit more fat than I thought it would have. I wonder how much of that is bacon and cheese? I don't think i'd eat it, though - I'd just go get some fried chicken or something.

WTF... I'm never going to Chipotle again, unless it's like my only meal for the day.

Looks delicious, but I won't be getting one because of the calories. When I was younger I'd be all over that.

Is this sandwich being offered in certain regions of the country or all over (including Houston)?

Why can't you all stop complaining about calories, sodium, carbohydrates, fat, or whatever you DON'T want to have extra nutrition of, and just enjoy ONE?

It's not like you are going to be buying and eating one every meal of the day. Try it.

I'm sure it tastes good. Most fast food tastes good. Heck, I could see myself getting really stoned and eating a few of those.

But still, even knowing that the nutritional value is similar to a Whopper or Big Mac, there's just something very wrong about that. I don't even know what it is, the idea just makes me unfomfortable.
