I look forward to no longer seeing him in an Astros uniform in two weeks. The man had a chance to pitch for his hometown team in a playoff push and sign a contract to finish his career, but he blew it. He completely fell apart under pressure. Good Riddance.
He has been a huge disappointment. Tough to accept losing Nottingham for him but that is the risk you take with deadline deals.
Kazmir has definitely disappointed, but I have a hard time singling him out. It's been a complete disaster of a finish and everybody is to blame.
We all decided to suck at the worst time. I wouldn't blame kazmir alone. Our ace got rocked in Arlington. Hinch needs to stop giving the kubiak speech and hold people accountable.
The Astros as a whole owe the fans more than this bs finish. They are mentally mailing in the end of this season. What the heck. Do they have non refundable vacation tickets at the end of the regular season.
Yep now that there are no games left to play, and we are officially eliminated from the playoffs, there is no chance this trade works out for us.
lol right when we make the playoffs and he throws a couple of gems back to back to move us on these same guys will be like "we better give him $150 million or whatever it takes"
You kidding? They are who we thought they are...a young, inexperienced team facing the pressures of a pennant race for the first time. Would I be dissapointed if they did miss the playoffs because of a lousy finish? Sure. But I'm still proud of them and have enjoyed this season and beats the hell out of a 100 loss campaign. They owe me nothing.
Kazmir career numbers are worse after the all star break. You could say he fades as the season progresses. Overall he hasn't gotten much run support. Tonight he struggled and lost confidence after giving up that HR to lead off an inning
Even if he slips to a 4 or 5, then it's a good trade. Having all 5 starters under a 4.00 era has put us in the conversation.
not really. they didn't get back value if he performs like a 4 or 5. but we are talking in hindsight anyway. at the time, the trade was welcome, and sensible. if it proves to have completely backfired, so be it. can't win em all, and it's the first deadline deal they made in 10 years with the intention of getting help to win a ring. hard to complain about that. being results-oriented is reserved for idiots like my friend.
The ERA is 3.31, but the whip is 1.255 and 10 homers in 60 innings He started strong for us, but has faded a little. We were just mad last night because the lineup the A's had was not good, the last 3 hitters' average were under .200, and having Billy Butler hitting 5th, well, you should dominate that lineup, and he did not. The game vs Texas he was awesome, yesterday he was mediocre. If we are going to win the division or WC, we need Kazmir to pitch like a real number 2 starter. We need a whip lower, that way he has less traffic on base and can go 7 instead of 5 or 6. Now, i have to tell you, our defense usually plays bad when he starts.
