This is the Irrelevancy Bowl. Whoever loses this one is irrelevant. Houston must show up for all four quarters. In the last two games they didn't play the first halves. If they lose this one, it really doesn't matter what they do for the rest of the season, they aren't going anywhere.
It's still non-conference. Winning the American is still the primary goal. However, if they drop this one, the NY6 bid is almost certainly dead unless something very unlikely happens. I maintain they can run the table. They're talented enough. But they're also sloppy enough to drop any given game.
