Kai Jones is the perfect fit for us. What we really need is a big man who can come in and develop a good synergy with Jalen. I believe he has the potential to be an Athletic Shaq if he avoids using drugs and alcohol excessively. Imagine Baby Shaq-Young Kobe PnR... like back in the days.
Talent vs potential: Potential refers to the future and probability, whilst talent is a present reality. For on court skills, guys like Kai Jones is more in realm of potential. Relative to the league, he's not necessarily more talented than other guys. Resist the temptation of cheap opportunities or simply because his age is lower. In a pivot phase, inexperience is not an asset. There's time to be choosy on who you bring into the family. For his mental and off court stuff: In a house of clean people, it only takes one guy with muddy boots to ruin your new clean carpet. This is the Hornets we're talking about, even for them, Kai was too delulu. He's not worth the risk.
Exactly. Adding Kai might be a good risk if we were a seasoned playoff team loaded with veterans who control a stable locker room. Introducing an unstable personality to this team is a recipe for disaster. The upside is not worth the risk. Not to mention that unstable guys with "through the roof potential" surface a few times every year, and they almost never pan out. Glad to see that Stone has decided to pass on Jones and see if they next one that comes up down the road is worth a look.
@OnlyRockets is a not-veiled-at-all troll account. Everything he posts is so abjectly wrong that it can only be an attempt at starting sh!te.
Yep, everyone laughs about it when I suggested it, but Morey thinks the same way I do. We SHOULD have signed him and taken a free look. DD
Just Charlotte, this is his first op outside of where he was drafted, sometimes players need fresh starts. No guarantees, but with his height and athleticism - a free look is a free look. DD
I will say this. If the Charlotte tape does not show Kai Jones busting his ass on defense every trip down, I suspect that Jones would be a hard sell to Ime Udoka.
I wanted to take a look at KAI, that's all..... KPJ - we might sign him this summer....you never know. It is ok to have different opinions, isn't it @topfive ??? DD
It is strange isn't it, we should be churning the bottom 2-3 players and looking for guys that fit here and need a fresh start. Morey always did that, we found Patrick Beverly, we found Danuel House, he would find nuggets on the scrap heap, Stone, doesn't do that. DD
